The Diner Pancake Standard
Aprons on — both of you; the uniform matters more than you think. The mission is diner pancakes, and the roles are printed on the card: the kid runs measuring, whisking, and the flip; you run the pan and the heat. Two rules make it work: the first pancake is legally the tester (eaten standing up, in secret, by the crew), and the flip is theirs even when it lands ugly — an ugly pancake tastes identical. Front-loaded win: the tester happens within 20 minutes of aprons-on. Serve the stack to whoever’s home; the cook announces the dish. Next week: same batter, one twist of their choosing.
