First Saturday

The Camp Cooks kit · ages 5–14

The Camp Kitchen

Cast iron, open flame (eventually), actual dinner.

One pan, one unfailable recipe, clear roles. Session one happens on the stove; the campfire earns its way in later. The endgame is a signature dish the family requests by name.

The Field Guide — your first three Saturdays

Written for the dad, not the kid. Including what to say when it goes sideways.

Session 01 · ~60 min

The Diner Pancake Standard

One batter, clear roles, and the kid owns the flip. Breakfast gets an audience.

Session 02 · ~75 min

Smash Burger Night

The cast iron does what it was born for. The kid runs the press and the thermometer call.

Session 03 · ~120 min

First Fire

The skillet meets the campfire (or grill). The signature dish gets named.

Fair questions

Does this need a campfire or grill?
No — sessions one and two run on a regular stove. The fire is session three’s reward, and it’s optional.
My kid is five. Realistic?
Yes, with the role split on the cards: at five they own measuring, whisking, and the ceremonial flip with your hand on theirs. The knife stays yours.
